It seems that 2018 is going to be a big year for sustainable packaging, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We’ve seen a trend in sustainability over the past few years, as increasingly more consumers are starting to incorporate green alternatives into their everyday life.
Mintel, a market research group, recently published their Europe: Consumer Trends report 2018, which revealed that 72 percent of respondents in the UK would buy products that are made with recycled plastic. The report also found that the average buyer is drawn to ocean-friendly packaging, and places a great deal of importance on business transparency and regulations that protect consumers’ information. Most companies are already trying to establish themselves in the green field, with a promise to discuss exactly what they are doing to help one of the bigger issues – plastics in the ocean.
The report also predicts that companies will start to implement an “open kitchen” approach in 2018, as more consumers demand to know what ingredients are in their food, as well as where they came from.
